Introducing…

…the KUE girls…

Sigrid's Birthday Party 9-1-09

Last night’s Dorm Meeting:

– surprised the girls, made them climb down my back deck stairs in the freezing cold (blankets in tow) and stand outside to look up at the stars and the bright, clear, African moon. reminded them of how big God was by reading Isaiah 40:28-31 to them:

“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall walk and not faint.”

– brought them back inside by the warm, roaring fire, and did some brief announcements

– celebrated one of their birthday’s together with singing, candles, games, goodies, and laughs.

– we also played this ridiculously cute game called, “Honey, if you love me…” Basically, you have to approach somebody in the group circle, and with your silliest accent or dramatic look, ask: “Honey, if you love me, will you smile for me?” The object of the game is to get the other person to smile. The response that you must try to make without smiling is, “Honey, I love you, but sorry, I just can’t smile.” Try putting 17 girls together who are 14-16 years old, from all different parts of the world, and various accents, and it makes for an entertaining evening 🙂
