GOING OUT WEST

Going out West tomorrow!  That’s right.  Our second, “annual” Thanksgiving trip to Phoenix.  Mom and Dad left at the crack of dawn this morning.  Peter, Brett, and I will follow tomorrow.  We will all share our Thanksgiving meal together next Thursday, and then head home on Friday morning.  In fact, the Jansen home will be quite empty.  Timarie Lambros, the girl who has lived with our family for the past 7 weeks, is going home, too.  To Tucson.  We will miss her very much.  She has filled our days with joy and laughter and fun.

Ten things I am looking forward to:

8) Enjoying a high of 79 every day!

8) Laughing with my family about the same jokes we always laugh about

8) Watching Nora stubbornly try to manage the stubborn streak that has recently been discovered in her stubborn daughter, Kate.

8) Playing (or attempting to play) golf on the beautiful Las Sendas course

8) Celebrating birthdays and anniversaries

  • Nora turns 28 TODAY (Nov. 21)
  • I turn Twenty-three years old on Nov. 23 (my golden b’day!)
  • Mom and Dad celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary on Nov. 24

8) Wearing flip-flops all week

8) Rejoicing in God’s goodness to me this past year as we reflect on all that we are thankful for

8) Playing in our Shank/Nam/Jansen/Zigler Thanksgiving-day Football game!

8) Eating at this amazing Vietnamese restaurant with the Nams (Can’t wait to see you guys!)

8) Last, but certainly not least, eating a cold Turkey and Cranberry relish sandwich on whole-wheat bread with a slice of lettuce and with a dash of salt the day after Thanksgiving for our plane-ride home. Yum.

(*Please note: these are not ordered by importance or value…so, Nam family, don’t be sad that you are towards the bottom of the list, because it doesn’t mean anything!) Haha.
