It is a quiet Friday evening, and I am in my room watching a movie with Brett. Nothing like quality brother-sister time. We rarely see each other throughout the week, because we are both so busy…so by Friday night, when we are wiped out and ready to chill, it’s always fun to just sit back, relax, and watch a movie together.
The chill of the October air has hit this past week…every day, more leaves fall, and it gets less appealing to go running outside, and more appealing to stay in the house reading a book while drinking a cup of hot tea or coffee. However, I am not acting entirely like a hermit these days! Outside of work, I have managed to have some great nights these past few weeks, and more to come…
:: Last night was the live comedy show of “Brian Regan” in Frederick. What started out as a family activity soon became a ‘Mom-and-Emily-girl night’ because Peter had grad school, and Brett had a soccer game at RFK stadium in D.C., which Dad attended. So, Mom and I made a night of it and got drinks and appetizers at “The Tasting Room” before the show, and then laughed until our sides hurt. Laughter is such good medicine, is it not?
Tomorrow, I am heading down to my alma-mater to see the homecoming footabll game: Terps vs. NC State. Rain is forecasted, but my friend got me a ticket, and so I am going to stay the committed fan, rain or shine!
In two weeks, Lauren Lotinsky and I will head up to NYC for a weekend trip…we haven’t firmed up our plans yet, but we are thinking we’ll take pictures near Brooklyn Bridge, see the Modern Museum of Art, enjoy some delicious meals, and hit up “Pearl River” in SoHo…which is this amazing Asian market with trendy and artsy sushi dishes for sale. My Uncle Erik has graciously offered to host the two of us, so we will also enjoy seeing him, as well as staying in his lovely apartment in Manhatten.
I have been waiting to post pictures of “fall events” for a few weeks now, because our family just did a great photo shoot with Janelle Bradshaw over Mom’s birthday weekend as part of her birthday gift, and Janelle is soon to get us a c.d. of all the edited shots. I will definitely post them later this weekend!
