Well, I’m back from the Big City! Lauren and I had a wonderful time. The Chinatown Bus was certainly an adventure, but we made it there and back! One of the things that Lauren and I both agreed we wanted to do was take pictures. Both of us use Nikon’s, and of course, wanted to put them to good use. So, we got lots of shots: night shots, market shots, street shots, food shots, you name it. Our cameras stayed in our bags, ready at any moment to be pulled out of our purses. We also enjoyed shopping in Soho, a movie in Times Square on a rainy Saturday afternoon, the Belgium Ale House for Mussels, Fries, and Belgium Beer, warding off the young policemen who tried to flirt with us on the 19th floor balcony overlooking Times Square :), a sunny morning on Brooklyn Bridge, wandering down 5th Avenue, and lunch with Uncle Erik and Howard on Sunday. You can only do so much in 48 hours, but I guess we walked around enough, because both of us had sore legs by late Sunday night when we returned home. I have to say, I’m not sure I will take the same bus up to NYC again, even if it only was $10 round-trip: wandering through Chinatown, NY at 3:30 on Sunday trying to figure out where our bus-stop was for the 4pm Bus was a bit stressful. These ladies were shouting at us on street-corners saying, “You! You find Bus up there (pointing towards the middle of nowhere)!” “You buy ticket? I have ticket for you.” “You take bus from New York? Go that way.” Except they were all pointing us towards different directions! Well, you know how it goes…anyways, check out my pictures on the Flickr sideboard if you would like.
