On this Valentines Day of 2008, I have chosen my little bro Brett to be my valentine. I woke up this morning to find a wonderful, thoughtful and incredibly sweet card from him communicating his affection and gratefulness for me. Seeing as he also served by taking Mom and Dad to the airport this morning at 4:45am, (who are off to Phoenix to visit Travis & Nora), I made him some Overnight French Toast before he got back….yum.
Anyways, to all of you who find Valentines Day as cheesy of a holiday as they ever get (ok, ok, maybe my perspective will change when I have somebody to share it with…), and prefer to delight in something humorous AND sentimental, here is a clip that will make your day. It is from my favorite romantic comedy–IQ–with Meg Ryan and Tim Robbins.
Walter Mattheau plays Meg’s famous uncle, Albert Einstein, who is trying to get Meg and Tim together (a brainy, meticulous mathematician and a laid-back, spontaneous, suave auto-mechanic). The clip begins with Einstein’s quirky old friends, who distract Meg’s REAL fiancee (a blaaa British scientist who does experiments/tests on rats and is incredibly predictable…) away from the sail-boat ride by creating a diversion in the laboratory.
If you get confused about the plot, you’ll just have to go rent the movie…and for any little eyes watching…don’t go past the 6 minute mark…
Enjoy :)Â Â Nora, wish I could be out there to watch it together today!
